HIMALAYAN SALT
MIZ Exports specializes in the manufacture, supply, and export of Himalayan salt. Himalayan salt is rock salt (halite) mined from the Punjab region of Pakistan. The salt is mostly mined at the Khewra salt mine in Khewra, Jhelum District, Punjab, Pakistan, which is situated in the foothills of the salt range hill system in the Punjab province of the Pakistan Indo-Gangetic plain. The salt range begins in the foothills of the Himalayan mountains in northeast Pakistan and stretches approximately 186 miles from the Jhelum river to the Indus river.
We encourage you to compare quality and not just price. You’ll see the quality and taste the difference of MIZ Himalayan salt. We’ve dedicated our lives to bringing the best tasting, cleanest salt to our customers worldwide. We’re passionate about perfecting salt naturally while preserving the flavour profiles, textures, and characteristics that make each salt unique.
Salt processing steps:
This process directly affects the quality of the salt.
1. Optical colour sorting:
MIZ has four custom-designed colour sorters that can identify and remove even the most elusive inclusions. Our proprietary, exclusive optically clean technology detects particles that mimic the appearance of salt as well as salt crystals that have inclusions of rock or clay, or may otherwise be less desirable, and removes them with a jet of air. As a built-in redundancy, all salts are processed through our optically clean technology twice.
2. Rare-earth magnets:
We have the strongest rare-earth magnets in the industry; this multi-point process removes any ferrous metal and magnetic contamination.
3. Aspiration:
Removes objects lighter than salts, such as plant matter, fibers, wood, and other undesirable materials.
4. De-Dusting:
Removes any dust created during transportation, as well as processing, including residue from granulation.
5. Metal Detection:
In addition to rare-earth magnets, we conduct a final metal detection step to ensure that the processed and packaged salt is free of ferrous and nonferrous metals.
6. Sieving:
We offer the most expansive selection of grain sizes, which are specially sieved to exacting sizes, ensuring consistency from order to order
7. Packaging:
MIZ designs many of its containers; our bulk packaging is dust-proof and moisture-proof.
Types and kinds:
Himalayan crystal mineral salt comes in many natural shades of colors. The colors of the crystal vary from pure white, pinks, oranges to deep reds, and sometimes a mixture of all. The reason for the variations of the Himalayan crystal mineral salt is caused by the infusion of iron along with over 80 other minerals within the salt crystal. The richer the iron content, the richer the pinks, oranges and reds appear in the crystal.
1. Orange Himalayan crystal:
Himalayan salt like with all crystals, minerals and precious gemstones, if there is iron present, it alters the color to a pink/red/orange color. For example, Selenite (commonly white) with the iron present is bright orange. The precious gemstone Amethyst; over time, heat and pressure and the rich infusion of Iron, Amethyst then becomes ‘Citrine’ which is a light yellow to darker orange color.
2. White Himalayan crystal mineral salt:
Generally found in the outer parts of the salt mine. White Himalayan crystal mineral salt has low iron content in the crystal. White Himalayan mineral salt is not as common, so generally may be priced higher. As a salt lamp, white Himalayan salt has the same healing properties, when heated it releases negative ions which purifies the surrounding air.
3. Pink Himalayan crystal mineral salt:
Which is what Himalayan crystal salt is more commonly known as. Pink Himalayan salt is pink in color with tinges of both white and red.
4. Red Himalayan crystal mineral salt:
The dark red and the orange colors in the red Himalayan salt is due to higher iron content.
5. Black Himalayan crystal mineral salt:
Also known as ‘Kala Namak’ is not actually black, but more of a reddish-grey. Black Himalayan salt is a complex mineral compound with a very strong Sulphur content and taste. To eat; the flavor hits quickly but then it dissipates to leave a rich mineral taste.

rock salt
The Rock Salt found in Pakistan is arguably amongst the best that can be found in the world. The purity levels of these rock salts can go up to 99% with minimum impurities. There are four different types of rock salts, in term of crystals, namely; pink solid crystals, white solid crystals, soft lumps and soft crystalline lumps.

Lake salt
Lake salt in Pakistan is available in excellent quality and sufficient quantities. It used to be a problem for manufacturers to extract the salt from the lakes due to the difficult routes to the lakes but now with the advancements and development of the infrastructure in Pakistan, the extraction has become easier.

Sea salt
Sea Salt production by solar evaporation is the oldest man-devised method of obtaining salt from the sea water and dates back to several thousand years. Historically also called bay salt or solar salt, its mineral content gives it a different taste from table salt, which is pure sodium chloride
Benefits
Himalayan salt was formed naturally from hearty 80+ minerals and elements 85.62% sodium chloride and 14.38% other trace minerals including sulphate, magnesium, calcium, potassium, bicarbonate, bromide, borate, strontium, and fluoride (in descending order of quantity).
Because of these minerals Himalayan pink salt can:
- Create an electrolyte balance
- Increases hydration
- Regulate water content both inside and outside of cells
- Balance pH (alkaline/acidity) and help to reduce acid reflux
- Prevent muscle cramping
It is even said to support libido, reduce the signs of aging, and detoxify the body from heavy metals.
